ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS AND RELEASE / VEHICLE USE POLICY

In order to make volunteering a safe and enjoyable experience, there are a few things all volunteers agree to. Please read these carefully and sign the form at the bottom acknowledging you agree to these standards.

I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM SIGNING UP FOR A VOLUNTEER ROLE.

I acknowledge that I am volunteering my time and efforts in service for Educational services, programs and training through the nonprofit mission of the National STEM Society, and that I will receive no monetary compensation or insurance benefits for my time or services performed.

I AM VOLUNTEERING AT MY OWN RISK.

I acknowledge and accept the risk of physical injury that could occur from my participation as a volunteer. Except for gross negligence on the part of the National STEM Society programming, I accept personal financial responsibility for any bodily or personal injury sustained while I am volunteering. I will not hold National STEM Society or its staff responsible for injury, damage, loss or accidents related to being a volunteer for National STEM Society.

YOU CAN TAKE MY PICTURE.

I grant to National STEM Society the right to make photo, video, and audio recordings of me available publicly without my approval of the finished product or where the recording appears.

WHAT I CREATE AT NATIONAL STEM SOCIETY BELONGS TO THE NATIONAL STEM SOCIETY, INC.

I acknowledge that anything I create for National STEM Society belongs to National STEM Society. This includes works of every kind, physical or electronic. I agree that National STEM Society may make changes to the works without my approval.

I WON’T SHARE CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION.

I acknowledge that while volunteering I may have access to sensitive or personal information. I agree that I will not share this information without prior written consent of National STEM Society, both during or after my volunteer service.

I WILL HELP KEEP THE NATIONAL STEM SOCIETY OFFICE LOCATION, VENUE SPACES AND COMMUNITY SCHOOL PROGRAMS A SAFE PLACE.

In order to ensure a safe environment for our guests, volunteers, and staff, I will not carry firearms or other dangerous weapons while serving as a volunteer at any National STEM Society office, campus, or event.

When operating a personally-owned vehicle on behalf of National STEM Society:

• The vehicle owner must have valid personal auto insurance coverage (collision and comprehensive).
• Should an accident occur, the vehicle owner’s personal auto insurance is the primary payor.

In the event of an accident:

• Call 911 and report accident.
• Call the National STEM Society front desk at 678-221-4147.
• Cooperate fully with police officer.
• Do not comment to anyone on-site about the accident other than police officer.

By completing and signing this document, you are agreeing that you have read and understood the Vehicle Use Policy and will comply with its provision.
